  1. 2 Chantries founded in the Church. Lands in Newent belonging to these Chantries were granted to Ralph Dobbins 3 Jac (1606?)
  2. Benefactions

Randall Dobyns, Gent. and 2 others gave by Deeds in 1631 and 1639 an Alms House, consisting of Ten Tenements with gardens for poor parishioners.

John Dobbyns, glover, by Deed dated July 21, 1633 gave a Rent Charge of 10s a year, for the relief of poor and impotent parishioners.

  1. At the Visitation of the Heralds in 1682 & 1683. the persons summoned from this Parish and its hamlets were 9 names including Guy and Samuel Dobbins.

Here lyeth buried William Dobyns, sonne of Phillip, who was buried 20 Sep 1611.

And also was buried Mrs Elinor Dobyns, widow, mother of the above named William, 20th day of May, Anno Dom. 1667.

Here lyeth the Body of Elizabeth, wife of Samuel Dobyns, Gent., who departed this life the 4th day of Nov, Anno Dom. 1683.

Here lyeth the body of Samuel Dobyns, Gent. who deceased the 25th day of Oct Anno Dom. 1679 aetatis 82. (WILL)

Also Mrs Bridges(t) Dobyns, late relict of Guy Dobyns, Gent. who was buried Dec 12, 1689

Also Hester Dobyns, relict of Samuel Dobyns, Gent. was here interred Aug 27, 1727 age 62 (WILL)

Here lyeth the body of Nathaniel Dobyns, Gent. who was buried the 21st day of July Anno Dom. 1682 age 56 years (WILL)

Here lyeth the body of Guy Dobyns, Gent. who was buried the 21st day of July Anno Dom. 1682 age 62 years ( NOTE SAME BURIAL DATE AS NATHANIEL ABOVE)

Also Samuel, son of the abovesaid Guy Dobyns, was here interred Aug the 15th Anno Dom. 1709 aetat 57 (WILL)

Here lyeth the body of William, the son of Samuel Dobyns, Gent. who was here interred, the 10th day of May Anno Dom. 1712 aetat 17.

Here lyeth the body of John Hyett, Gent., who was buried the 30th day of March Anno Dom. 1640

And also his daughter Anne, wife of Samuel Dobyns, Gent., who was buried the 22nd day of Oct Anno Dom. 1670.
