In the name of God Amen. The six and twentieth day of August in the nynthe yeare of the reigne of our sovereign (Lord

Charles by the Grace of God king of England Scotland ffrance and Ireland defender of the faith. I John Dobyns of Newent in the

county of Gloucester ??? being weak in bodye but I thank Almighty God in good and perfect memorye do make ordain and devise

this my last will and testament in writing in manner and forme following. That is to say Imprimis I give and commend my soule unto

Almightie God my maker and ??? trusting and ???ly beleiving that I shall be made ??? of life everlasting by and thence

?? (??) and merritts of Jesus Christ my only saviour and redeemer and my bodie comitt to the earth whereof it was made to be

burried in the Church yard of Newent aforesaid. Item I give and bequeath unto the poore people of the towne and parish of Newent

aforesaid the summe of Twentie shillings of Lawfull money of England to be distributed according to the discretion of Randall Dobyns,

(???y) Dobyns, Samuel Dobyns and John Williams the elder gentlimen or any two or more of them within one month next after my decease

(and) towardes the repairing of the parishe church of Newent aforesaid I give and bequeath ffive shillings. Item I give grant devise and

bequeath unto Thomas Dobyns of Barnstaple in the county of Devon Bricklayer brother of me the said John Dobyns All those my messuages

tenements or cottages and gardens with their and every of their appurtements situate lying and being in the towne of Newent aforesaid

(????) unto a fforest there called the New fforest ???? the said fforest the garden of John Williams the younger and the land ?? ????

??? John Walton(?) ?? ????? And nowe in the tenure and d??portion of me the said John Dobyns or my assigns or be?? ??

and to hold the said Messuages Tenements or Cottages and gardens and every part and parcell thereof with their and ??????

???????? from and immediately after the decease of me the said John Dobyns and Dorothie my nowe wife unto him the said Thomas

Dobyns for and during the natural life Yielding and paying yearly out of the said promisses and Annuitie or yearley rent of Tenne shillinges

of lawfull money of England at the feaste of St Thomas the Apostle by me the said John Dobyns heretofor given and granted to the ??

?? the poor people of the towne and parish of Newent aforesaid And from and immediately after the decease of the said Thomas

Dobyns I do give and grant devise and bequeath the aforesaid Messuages Tenemente or Cottage and gardens every part and parcell

??? with their and every of their apptenance unto Elizabeth ?? the natural daughter of the aforesaid Thomas Dobyns and to the

???? the bodye of her the said Elizabeth lawfully begotten or to be begotten To have and to holde the said Messuages or Tenements

??? ?? th appten? from and ymmediatly after the decease of me the said John Dobyns my wife and the said Thomas

Dobyns unto her the said Elizabeth W?? and the ??? of her bodye lawfully begotten or to be begotten Yielding and paying there?? ??

?? summe of Six pounds of lawfull money of England unto Jane Harris(?) sister unto the said Elizabeth and daughter of the said

Thomas Dobyns at one entire payment within the space of Six monthe next after that she the said Elizabeth or the ??? of her

bodye lawfully begotten or to be begotten or any of them do shall or may have and possess the Messuages Tenement or Cottages and gardens

and or any part or parcell thereof by ??? this my gifte devise and bequest As also the aforesaid Annuitie or yearly rent of Tenne

shillinges to the ?? of the poor people of the towne and parish of Newent aforesaid And if it shall happen that the said Elizabeth W??

or the ??? of her bodye lawfully begotten or to be begotten do make defaulte in payment of the said Six pounds within the time afore

said I give grant devise and bequeath the said Messuages Tenements or Cottages and gardens ????? the promisses and ???

part and parcell thereof with their and every of their apptenanses to her the said Jane Harris for and during her natural life And ???

??? payment of the said summe of Six pounds within the time aforesaid my will is that it shall and may be lawfull to for the

said Jane Harris to enter in and ??? the said Messuages or Tenements and premmisses and every parte thereof with their apptenants

?? to have holde and enioy ??? and ??????? for and during her said natural life Any ???? or devise ??? ??? (??)

??? ????? notwithstanding Provided always and ??????? ??????? meaning of this my will and testament further is that if the (?????)

(?????) doth happen to ???? before the said ???? of Six pounds shall happen to ???? due and

??? shall be payed and ???? by the said Elizabeth W?? or the ??? of her bodye of the aforesaid Elizabeth W?? lawfully begotten or to be begotten ?????

????? of her the said Jane Item for default of ???? or ???? of the bodye of the aforesaid Elizabeth W?? lawfully begotten or to be

(begotten) I do give grant devise and bequeath the said Messuages Tenements and gardens & every part thereof to the

(??) aforesaid Thomas Dobyns for ever Item all the rest of my goods cattle chattels money household stuff and implements (???)

(????) and ????able not before by this my will already given or bequeathed I give and bequeath unto the aforesaid (??????)

(?????) I do make and ordayne ?? ????? of this my last will and testament And ?? hereby revoke & dis??? (????)
