In the name of God Amen The third day of

August in the eighth yeare of the reigne of our soveraigne Lord James By

the grace of God King of England ffrance and Ireland and in the fourte

forth yeare of his raigne of Scotland. I Guy Dobbyns of Compton within

the parish of Newent and County of Gloucester beinge the Lord be thanked

therefore in good and perfect remembrance Do constitute and make this my

last Will and testament in manner and forme followinge (that is to say) ffirst

and principally I comitt my soule and bodie into the hands of almighty God

my maker and creator and unto his sonne Jesus Christ my redeemer and saviour by

whose death and passion I stedfastly believe and trust to be saved and to the holy ghost my

comforter and sanctifyer. --- ---inge --------- of all the goodes which God of his mercy and

goodnes hath given and lent me in this worlde. I will dispose give and bequeath in manner and

forme followinge ffirst I give and bequeathe to the poor people of Newent afforesaid Sixe

pounds thirteen shillings four pence to be distributed amongst them by my executors.

Thereafter named upon the daie of my buryall. Item I do give and bequeathe unto Johane

Dobyns my eldest daughter one hundred and threefort pounds of lawful money of England

to be paid and delivered unto her when She Shall accomplish the full age of one and twenty

yeares or she be married unto any man which of the two Shall first happen to come to pass

Item I do give and bequeathe unto Jane Dobyns my second daughter one hundred and

threefort pounds of lawful money of England to be paid and delivered unto her

when she shall accomplish the full age of one and twenty yeares or she be married

unto any man which of the two shall first happen or come to pass Item I do give and

bequeathe unto Anne Dobyns my youngest daughter one hundred and threefort pounds

of lawfull money of England to be paid and delivered unto her when she shall

accomplish the full age of one and twenty yeares or she be married unto any man

which of the two shall first happen or come to pass Item my will is that if any of

my said daughters shall decease or dye before they shall accomplish and be of the full

age of one and twenty yeares or shall be married that the survivors of them shall

have the portion or portions of her or their -- shall so decease and dye to be equallie

divided amongst them and to be paid and delivered unto them at the time aforesaid

or when they shall be at the said age. Item my meaninge is and I do devise unto

Randall Dobyns my brother and unto Phillip Dobyns sonne and heire of the said

Randall Dobyns all my landes and tenements lying and being in Compton within the

parish of Newent and in Oxenhall for and during the terme of sixe yeares and twoe

monthes unto th'ende and purpose and true meaninge that my saide childrene shall have

their ----------- out of my saide landes and tenements during the said term of

sixe yeares twoe monthes and to th ende that their portions may be lett out presently

so best for their best behoofe and benefit Provided always and my will and true

intent and meaninge is that whereas a great -------- of my goodes doth consist in debtes

----- Item I do give and bequeathe unto Randall Dobyns, my brother, my best suite

of blacke clothe, my blacke cloake, my best hatt, and also my shirtes & bandes

Item I do give and bequeathe unto Phillipe Dobyns my nephew my seconde best

suite of blacke clothe, my silke stockinges my taffeta doublett, and my best blacke

jerkin and my doublett [?] hose and ------- ------- of my shirte and bandes . Item I do

give and bequeathe unto Gyles Dobyns, my brother all the rest of my wearing apparell

not before given and bequeathed, Item I do give and bequeathe unto Ursulla

Dobyns, my brother's wife a piece of gold of twentie shillinges. Item I do give &

bequeathe unto Daniel Dobyns, my godson a piece of gold of twentie shillinges

Item I do give and bequeathe unto Thomas Dobyns my brother's sonne a piece of

gold of tenne shillinges Item I doe ordaine constitute and make my brother Randall

Dobyns and Phillipp Dobyns my brother's sonne executors of this my last will and

testament and the gardions govenors and protectors of all my children. In witness

-------- I have hereunto sett my hand and seal this daie and yeare first about written
