Philip Dobbins creates finely crafted furniture, expressing contemporary design grounded in tradition and highlighting unique and exquisite materials. Inspired by historic and contemporary sources Philip's work exemplifies all that is outstanding about modern furniture and demonstrates traditional skills honed over the last 40 years of practice from his base in Yorkshire. In addition to pieces produced for exhibition, Philip is also commissioned by clients ranging from private individuals to large corporations. Commissioning work allows the client to explore wider design themes, a progressive approach to methods and materials, and the development of a special working relationship between client and craftsman
